1. How is Osteoarthritis diagnosed?
At Pmc Knee Pain & Restoration, we use x-rays to determine if a patient is suffering from Osteoarthritis.
2. What are the most common symptoms associated with Osteoarthritis?
Pain in the joint, that is often accompanied by stiffness or crackling. Some patients experience pain that is intermittent and others have pain daily. Swelling can also occur in some cases.
3. How quickly after treatment can I expect to have results and pain relief?
Many patients start to feel some relief in as little as 3-4 weeks with maximum results at 8-12 weeks after injection.
4. Do I have any downtime after treatment?
Most patients require no downtime from normal daily activities. Excessive exercising with weight bearing objects or weights is advised to be minimal and it is advised to give the injection at least 8 weeks before lifting heavy weights with the knees.
5. Is this covered by insurance?
Many insurances cover the injections and treatment. Many patients are required to try injections and do not end up needing a knee replacement.
